Category Manager - Food

We are looking for a Category Manager to join our Sales team at Bolton Food, home to iconic brands such as Saupiquet and Rio Mare.

You make the difference by driving sustainable sales growth across your assigned retail accounts through high-value category and commercial recommendations. As a trusted partner to national retailers, you will optimize assortments, promotional strategies and merchandising plans to accelerate the growth of our brands.

As part of our Sales organization, you will play a key role in strengthening our category leadership while supporting the commercial performance of our customers and positioning Bolton Food as a category expert.

 

Your mission

Category Development

  • Drive profitable growth across your assigned retail accounts.
  • Identify category and brand growth opportunities.
  • Build insightful category recommendations that create value for both customers and Bolton Food.
  • Develop strong partnerships with key contacts at national retail headquarters.

Assortment & Merchandising

  • Define the most effective assortment strategy according to customer profiles.
  • Analyze retailers' merchandising strategies.
  • Adapt the national merchandising strategy to each retailer.
  • Develop merchandising plans and ensure their successful implementation.

Promotional Strategy

  • Analyze promotional performance.
  • Recommend annual promotional plans.
  • Develop corrective action plans to continuously improve commercial performance.

Analysis & Sales Support

  • Analyze customer performance and identify growth opportunities.
  • Maintain assortments and commercial action plans in Easysales.
  • Provide the Sales teams with relevant insights and recommendations.
  • Deliver regular reporting and performance analysis to internal stakeholders.

 

Your environment

  • Position based in Courbevoie.
  • Hybrid working model.
  • Occasional customer visits.
  • Reporting directly to the National Account Director.
  • Close collaboration with Sales, Sales Support, Category Development and Field Sales teams.

 

Your profile

  • Master's degree or Business School graduate.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in Category Management (internships and apprenticeships included).
  • Previous experience in FMCG/Grocery, ideally within the Food industry.
  • Professional English (minimum B2 level).

  • Strong knowledge of Nielsen panels.
  • Experience with Salesforce.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent analytical capabilities.
  • Solid understanding of Category Management and merchandising principles.
