ENGINEERING MANAGER SPAIN & MOROCCO
We are looking for an Engineering Manager to join our Industrial team in Bolton Food based in Grove, Spain.
How you make the difference:
The person will play a key role in managing and supervising all engineering processes related to the plants in Spain and Morocco, coordinating operational activities and serving a strategic function in the evolution and industrial development of these plants, following Lean Manufacturing principles.
How your agenda looks like:
- Process Development, Optimization, and Industrialization: Ensures the creation of efficient processes and their deployment in the plants to optimize workflow from pilot scale to full production, setting technical roadmaps and goals and taking care of the whole design and implementation phases. Oversees the transition from R&D processes to production, ensuring each production line maximizes outputs in terms of performance, quality, and cost efficiency. This includes applying Lean Manufacturing methodologies and quality control tools in collaboration with other Industrial Dpts.
- Drive Engineering Excellence in Automation and Industrialization Projects: Identifies and directs the implementation of advanced machinery and technology on production lines, guiding all the process related to technological innovations following Lean Manufacturing principles and our production philosophy (BMX).
- Establishing and Standardizing Industrial Processes: Works to ensure that plants in Spain and Morocco apply uniform protocols, complying with standards like HACCP, ISO 9001, and ISO 22000, homologating and pursuing similar industrial structures than the other plants and according to our production philosophy (BMX). Focused on consistency, the role seeks to align each industrial process with company objectives and quality standards.
- Compliance and Improvement of Safety and Sustainability Standards: Implements sustainable practices at every step of the industrial process, aiming to minimize energy consumption and reduce the environmental impact of operations.
- Budget Management and Industrial Cost Analysis: Oversees the engineering budget, optimizing investments in technology, machinery, and staff training. This includes careful cost-benefit analysis of new technologies and industrial processes to maximize ROI.
- Technical and Industrial Skill Development for the Team: Trains and leads his team in advanced technical skills to maintain highly efficient industrial processes. Focuses on nurturing, mentoring and taking care of the talents related to his own team.
- Industrial Risk Analysis and Complex Problem Solving: Manages the identification and mitigation of risks in industrial operations, applying troubleshooting predictive analysis and problem-solving methods
- Continuous Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve validation techniques to enhance product quality and efficiency;
- KPI: actively pursuing the best operational standards, focusing on reaching our KPIs objectives in terms of costs (inversion payback etc.) and indirectly KPIs related to production performances (as OEE), safety, quality etc.
How you look like:
- Master’s degree in Engineering (especially Industrial/Mechanical);
- Previous experience in managing projects and processes for the design and implementation of production lines, preferably within the Food & Beverage or, alternatively, FMCG sector;
- Good knowledge of IT systems such as Suite OFFICE (Excel, Project);
- Good knowledge of SAP and designing tools like AutoCAD;
- Good knowledge of 3D modelling applications like AUTODESK or similar;
- Proficiency in written and spoken Spanish and English; French and Italian will be considered a plus;
- A strong team player that fosters an inclusive, high-performance culture, developing individual and team capabilities through mentorship and by setting clear goals.
- A curious and analytical observer, able to face complex issues and understanding broader business impacts, with the foresight to prioritize long-term initiatives alongside immediate operational needs.
- With strong interpersonal skills to clearly convey technical and strategic information to both technical and non-technical audiences, including senior stakeholders.
- Proficient in resolving complex challenges in dynamic environments, demonstrating resourcefulness and a proactive, solution-oriented approach.
- Capable to work seamlessly with cross-functional teams, especially in coordinating between departments such as Production, Maintenance, HSE, Quality and R&D.
- Strongly committed to Lean Manufacturing principles and to fostering a culture of continuous learning and process improvement.
