Sourcing Specialist

Bolton Food Spain is looking for brilliant candidates to cover the position of Sourcing Specialist, a position entirely dedicated to the supervision of suppliers’ production from a quality assurance standpoint, ensuring that the highest quality standards are met.

What are you going to do:

You will be actively part of our dynamic and potential team of Quality Assurance, being in charge of:

• Supervise production in the suppliers’ factories, according to the company procedures and specifications in force;
• Sample and evaluate products in the supplier's places when we buy inventories, cooperating with all the stakeholders to make sure that only compliant products are sent to our customers;
• Provide technical assistance to suppliers in terms of quality control, food safety assurance and production arrangements;
• Handle the company audits, documentation or any other technical requirements for each manufacturing site, in coordination with corporate QA.
• Support the Operations Department when needed by supervising fish loading and offloading, stuffing and unstuffing sizing and any other activity related to the quality and quantity of the whole round fish, according to company procedures and specifications in force;
• Support the Corporate Technical Services in developing Company Quality Management Systems and/or any other 3rd party certification.
• Train new hired QCRs and guide their operations, when needed.

What we are searching for:

• Master’s Degree in Food Science and Technology, Chemical Engineering, Agro-food Industries, Food Law or related field;
• Solid experience and competence in internal and external auditing, as well as non-conformity management and quality control in food factories, especially canned fish ones. Experience with seaming and sterilization will be considered a plus;
• Knowledge of HACCP and food safety standards;
• Knowledge of quality standards such as ISO 9001, BRC, IFS or other industry-specific standards.
• Familiarity with European Food Regulations.
• Proficient in Spanish and in English, other languages such as French or Italian will be positively valued;
• Strong analytical skills and ability to plan his/her own work according to priorities and urgencies;
• A problem solver and a detailed-oriented professional, dedicated to ensure a strong focus on continuous improvement and excellence in execution;
• A proactive and fast learner keen to evolve, challenging himself/herself daily in order to reach excellence and focus on customers and stakeholders satisfaction;
• A fully accountable and an effective communicator, able to instill trust and build meaningful relationships with internal and external stakeholders;
• A dynamic, resilient and flexible professional capable to adapt swiftly and manage a fast moving and demanding environment.
• A person of integrity, ensuring transparency and independence in audits and quality control processes.

This position will travel on a constant basis nationally and internationally, so the availability to travel is considered a must have.
