Group Environmental Footprint Manager

We are looking for a Group Environmental Footprint Manager to join our Group Sustainability Team based in Milan. 

How you make the difference

 

You will play a crucial role in reducing Bolton’s environmental footprint, enhancing climate and water resilience, and embedding sustainability across the Group’s strategy and operations, while driving innovation and continuous improvement in environmental performance.

 

How your agenda looks like:

  • Quantify Bolton environmental footprints, such as carbon emissions, water balance, energy consumption, and waste generation, collecting, managing and analyzing environmental data.
  • Design Group environmental strategies and policies, in collaboration with the Business Units, to reduce environmental impacts, including the climate transition plan (mitigation and adaptation), water stewardship strategy and sustainable sourcing policies.
  • Prepare reports for internal stakeholders, regulatory bodies, and sustainability disclosures (e.g., CDP, ESRS), as well as steer the company in advancing the Science Based Targets.
  • Coordinate environmental audits (limited assurance in line with the GHG Protocol) and risk assessments to identify areas for improvement (TCFD, ISSB).
  • Explore new technologies or practices that reduce emissions and enhance climate and water resilience.
  • Liaise with corporate stakeholders in the climate, water and circularity areas.

 

Your team:

 

You’ll directly report to our Sustainability Manager.

The role does not include direct reports.

 

What makes you a great fit:

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering;
  • Work Experience: 4-5 years of experience in climate-related projects within large multinational companies;
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of environmental science, sustainability frameworks, and life cycle assessment (LCA and PCF; Scope 1, 2 and 3);
    • Familiarity with ISO 14001, ETS Scheme, GHG Protocol and SBTi;
    • Familiarity with Carbon Credits;
    • Proficiency in decarbonization roadmaps’ development;
    • Proficiency in data analysis tools, sustainability reporting platforms and suppliers’ engagement tool like ECOVADIS;
  • Local language: fluency in Italian and English, any other language is considered a plus.
